Often we feel that we need to have “all our ducks in a row” so to speak before we can choose to move forward.
Many years ago, I learned the difference in living by choice or by decision. You see, a decision is based on outside factors that will help you make that decision, whereas choice is not.
As an example, a friend once told me she was going to go to Spain in the fall. Exited for her, I asked when. She said she hadn’t sorted out the exact dates yet, in fact she hadn’t confirmed her time off work, bought a plane ticket or even knew where in Spain she was going. I was a bit perplexed.
She said, she would figure all that out but that she had always wanted to go to Spain and so she committed to go.
In the fall, she went.
Is there something you would like to do, have or experience? Go ahead and choose that and commit to following through. Put a timeline on it. Then don’t let anything hold you back. You will be pleasantly surprised at the journey you will embark on in just committing and taking action.
